Welcome

Heroes

Rising of Chaos is a live role-playing game set in a high fantasy world of adventures, magic, politics and exploration. The system has been designed to support character development through weekly game events, whilst also allowing for the advancement of game areas that cannot be achieved by bashing each other in the woods.

ROC uses a live action combat system which means that if you want to take part in the game you have to be happy with being hit by, and hitting others with, live role-playing weapons that have passed a safety check by the system.

Player Opinions

The players are the heart of any good system and Rising of Chaos aims to make events that players remember and love. But don't take our word on this, here are a few of the comments from our players:

How do i begin to express my thoughts and feelings about last weekend. The cataclysmic end of a fifteen year plotline? Mindblowing, simply mindblowing - Siegfried Ar-Valen

Sky lanterns: simply brilliant. Had no idea what they looked like until the first one flew over my head whilst in combat and became dumbstruck - Var-Grim

Huge thanks to everyone for an absolutely excellent event. Comrades sitting together in the sun, relaxing at last having saved the world, and getting to meet all the people we saved (or who saved us) one by one. Really great end to the event - Inigo

Great weekend, cant wait to do it again - Rosie

It is brilliant that we can all larp together with such good, imaginative, dedicated and crazy people who are understanding enough to play the game for what it is intended, whole hearted, overruling, incredible fun - Amelia

We love the monsters, we love the monsters, we love the monsters....... - Amelia again

And not to be out done:
most importantly my thanks to all of the crew throughout all of the events of the past 3 years of this part of the plot. There has been blood, grief, strops, injuries, tears, arguments and hardship to try and stop them but they have responded with dedication, hard work, friendship, commitment, excellence, fortitude and a level of concern to make sure that I am ok and good to go that has moved me immensely and kept me going when it was at its hardest. Most of all they have all shown a great desire to make sure that the players have the best of times that they can when they are playing regardless of how the crew member is feeling at that time. I am so very proud to have them as troupe in my tale, the pieces on my board, thank you so very much to all who have given up their time to crew this game - Stephen, System Head.

Live Role Playing

Live Role Playing is similar in many ways to acting on stage or in the theatre, it requires costume, in some cases make-up and the ability to take on the role and persona of the character that you are attempting to portray.

A major difference is that the character you are playing has no set script from which to work, instead all of the actions and decisions that are made by the character are yours, influenced as you are by the actions of those around you and the direction that the stories and plot are taking.
